Churches opening Update

After closing our churches due to the Covid 19 pandemic,

We are happy to say we are now getting ready to be open once again.

Our main priority is keeping everyone safe so masks and hand sanitiser will be available and social distancing will be in place at every church and for every service.

Here is the current plan going forward: -

Open Churches

We will be opening some of our churches on certain days in the week for private prayer.

Please check with you local church for details.

Sunday Services

We will be holding weekly Sunday services from September 6th.

There will be one service every Sunday, and this will be held at a different church in our Benefice each

week.

In preparation we are holding 3 ‘test’ services through July & August to ensure we have everything in place.

The services are: -

  • 26th July  10.15am      - All Saints Thorpe Bassett (outdoor service)
  • 9th August 10.15 am  - St Hilda’s Sherburn
  • 23rd August 10.15am - All Saints West Heslerton

Funerals/Baptisms/weddings

Funerals, baptisms and weddings can now be held in church.

A maximum of 30 people are allowed to attend and only if social distancing guidelines can be kept to.

No singing is permitted at any service as yet.

For details please contact your local church or Rev Joe K

Online Services

There will continue to be weekly Sunday Services offered online along with bible studies and a host of

other gatherings and events. Check the benefice website or go to Youtube Channel “Rev Joe K”

Many thanks to all in our communities who have done so much to support one another through these dark

and tough days. Over the coming weeks and months lets carry on encouraging one another, looking out for

each other and keeping each other safe.

May God continue to guide, strengthen and bless us all as we begin to step forward once again.

With thanks and Blessings

Rev Joe K
